The client is a US-based, multinational bank that is ranked among the top five. Its customers include the world’s most prominent corporations and individuals. From asset management to corporate client banking, the bank has a wide range of offerings.
The client faced challenges in ensuring security for mobile payments and reporting progress to registered merchants. It needed solutions that addressed issues with functionality, security and analytics, user experience, and performance.
We, at Mphasis, overcame these challenges by developing a secure mobile application for payment processing that catered to small and medium businesses with PCI compliance. Our team designed a native app to enable retail merchants to provide point-of-sale payment services through Apple and Android phones and tablets. Our solution encompassed the following:
• Implemented a triple data encryption standard (DES), secured, mobile payment processing solution along with customer signature capture, product catalog, text message, and e-mail receipts for customers and merchants
• Provided multilingual support
• Optimized payment processing and reports data management
• Developed highly-intuitive yet simple user interface features
• Used Cocoa touch framework and Objective C for iOS
• Provided LPDI to HDPI support
• Deployed WebTrends, JSON, graphs, and card reader integration
• Built an ApplePay SDK component for our client, which was released as a part of Apple's iOS 8 release
Through our smartphone and tablet apps for iOS and Android, the client gained the following benefits across functionality, security, user experience, and performance:
• Provided e-mail receipts for customers, merchants, and customer signature capture
• Followed up transactions by creating calendar events
• Delivered reports for real-time transactions, settlements, and funding
• Enabled access- any iOS developer could plug in to client’s payment gateway quickly through the SDK components, which were a part of Apple’s iOS 8 release
• Ensured Triple-DES encrypted card data capture and transfer
• Secured storage of user ID and application settings
• Blocked applications from executing on Jailbroken(iOS)/Rooted (Android) mobile devices
• Captured user page-level and events-level data using WebTrends
• Developed highly intuitive yet simple user interface features for five resolution types (iPhone 4/4S, 3GS, Android LDPI, MDPI, and HDPI) by supporting more than 60 devices in the U.S.
• Developed application interfaces with RESTFul API using JSON format
